This is my story. I've lived a long life and I want to share my story. When America entered World War II, Japanese Americans eagerly volunteered for the U.S. military, ready to fight America’s enemies. Most were Nisei, American-born children of Japanese immigrants. Instead, they were incarcerated along with their families, forced to abandon their farms, homes and businesses. Their loyalty questioned, they were desperate to prove they were Americans, but most would have to sit in prison for a year before given the opportunity.
